Hold Your Head High
I found this scribbled in a notebook...who knows when I wrote it. I don't know what was happening at the time to make me write these words. I do know that God gives us what we need exactly when we need it, and sometimes those words can resonate through the years with different shades of meaning and depth. I hope that these words will speak to your soul today and give you the confidence to lift your head high!
Don't be afraid to hold your head high. Don't give in to shame. Once you have been forgiven, you can hold your head high, not because you are always without fault or shame, but because He is your glory. He is your shield, so you are protected. Imagine His hand gently nudging your chin up, so that your eyes meet His face. It is not pride that causes you to hold your head high. It is not self. It is Him.
But you, Lord, are a shield around me, my glory, the One who lifts my head high. Psalm 3:3
What we suffer now is nothing compared to the glory He will reveal to us later. Romans 8:18
So be truly glad. There is wonderful joy ahead, even though you have to endure many trials for a little while. 1 Peter 1:6
