They Don't Make 'Em Like That Anymore

"They just don't make 'em like that anymore."

A classic truck.  A black and white film. A dog-eared copy of your favorite classic novel.  If it can stand the test of time, we know it's worthwhile.

Lately, it seems as if we've traded quality for quantity, substance for sensationalism.  Flip through the channels or check what's showing at the theater, and you will agree that there's not much worth watching out there.

However, I have some good news.  There is a new movement of family-friendly, faith-based entertainment that is taking the industry by storm, and those of us who crave old-fashioned romance on our screen are eating it up.

A big part of this movement is the Hallmark Orignal Series "When Calls the Heart," based on the series by Janette Oke.  Co-creators Michael Landon, Jr. and Brian Bird have spent the better part of a decade making their dream a reality, first as a film, and now as a television series.

"When Calls the Heart" premiered in January of 2014, and fans of the series have grown to 22,000+ (and that's just on the Facebook page)!  Fans calls themselves "Hearties" and come from all walks of life.  The fan base has (impatiently) waited for the return of Season 2, and the wait is finally over!

Watch the 2-hour season premiere on Hallmark Channel TOMORROW, Saturday, April 25 at 8/7c
